Keystone High School's Programs

Support and Extracurricular Opportunities for Full-Time Students

At Keystone we have developed a suite of support services specifically with students enrolled in three or more courses in mind:

Learning Coach
Our dedicated Learning Coaches call new full-time students to make sure they are off to a good start and know how to access their courses, contact teachers, and submit assignments. They also offer guidance on how to structure study time to foster success and answer any student questions.

On-Demand Tutoring
For students who need immediate help, on-demand tutoring is available from our partner Tutor.com. The first 75 minutes are FREE for all Keystone full-time students. Visit www.tutor.com/keystone to find out more.

Keystone STARS (Students Taking Action and Responsibility for Success)
We encourage new full-time students to get off to a great start by accomplishing five goals within their first 30 days at Keystone:

  • Complete the orientation course.
  • Log in to each course at least once a day for 15 of the first 30 days.
  • View grades once for each course.
  • Turn in at least one assignment for each course.
  • Post a message to the Discussion Board in at least one course.

Extra Incentive: All students who complete the challenge receive a Keystone STARS backpack and are automatically entered into a drawing for a $75 Amazon.com gift card.

Clubs
Keystone students have the opportunity to connect with each other through extracurricular activities including the Keystone Photography Club and the "Keystone Connection", our student-run newspaper which encourages students to collaborate and share.

Keynotes
Students and Parents stay up to date with what is happening at Keystone through KeyNotes, our email newsletter. KeyNotes features tips for online learning, student stories and profiles, and updates on programs, courses, and clubs.

Job Shadow Month
Whether you plan to go to college or start a career right after graduation, a Job Shadow is a great way to learn more about career opportunities. In February, 2009, Keystone students can participate in Job Shadow Month. Students will be guided through the process of contacting potential mentors and can participate in discussions with other students and Keystone faculty about the experience. Look in your email box in early 2009 for information on how participate!

Delta Epsilon Tau International Honor Society
Twice a year, in June and December, Keystone nominates students with outstanding academic records for the Keystone Chapter of the DET Honor Society. Joining the DET Honor Society is a great distinction that students can add to their high school portfolio and their resume as a way to demonstrate their commitment to academic excellence.
