Learn Independently, But Not Alone
Keystone Independent is for 9th - 12th graders. Keystone Independent is ideal for students who thrive on self-paced, independent learning, and for students with parents who want to take an active role in their child's education.
The program features more than 80 online and correspondence courses including core, elective, AP, and honors courses. Please visit the Keystone Independent course catalog for details.
Students have access to on-demand support from Keystone's highly-qualified licensed teachers. Teachers respond to student questions within 24 business hours and grade assignments within 3 business days.
To ensure that new Keystone Independent students are off to a good start, Keystone provides each student with an online Orientation Course that prepares them for a successful Keystone experience. In addition, our learning coaches reach out to new full time students within 2 weeks of enrollment. This proactive outreach provides an opportunity for students to discuss questions they have from the orientation, how to contact teachers and submit assignments, and creating a schedule for completing course work.
While students are strongly encouraged to make regular contact with their teachers the Keystone Independent courses are designed so that students can complete them independently and rely on teachers primarily for evaluation, grading and to help in case they hit a roadblock.
