Enabling Scripting

Complete the steps below to enable scripting in your browser.

For AOL 4.0/5.0:

  1. Select Preferences from the My AOL menu on your browser
  2. Click on 'WWW'
  3. Click on the Security tab
  4. Select 'Custom' and click on the 'Settings..' button
  5. Make sure Enable is selected under 'Active Scripting' and 'Scripting of Java Applets'
  6. Click 'OK', 'Apply', and then 'OK'

For AOL 6.0/7.0:

  1. Select Preferences from the Settings menu on your browser
  2. Click on 'Internet Properties' (WWW)
  3. Click on the Security tab
  4. Select 'Custom Level' and scroll to 'Scripting'
  5. Make sure 'Enable' is selected under 'Active Scripting' and 'Scripting of Java Applets'
  6. Click 'OK', 'Apply', and then 'OK'

Firefox for Windows:

  1. Select Options from the Tools menu.
  2. In Options dialog box select the Content tab.
  3. Click the check box to Enable JavaScript.
  4. Click OK.

Firefox for Mac:

  1. Select Preferences from the Firefox menu.
  2. In Preferences dialog box select the Content tab.
  3. Click the check box to Enable JavaScript.
  4. Click OK.

Safari for Mac:

  1. Select Preferences from the Safari menu.
  2. In Preferences dialog box select the Content tab.
  3. Click the check box to Enable JavaScript.
  4. Click OK.

IE 7 for Windows

  1. Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
  2. In Internet Options dialog box select the Security tab.
  3. Click Custom level button at bottom right. The Security settings dialog box will pop up.
  4. Scroll down to the Scripting category and click radio buttons to enable Active Scripting.
  5. Click OK twice to close out.

IE 6 for Windows

  1. Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
  2. In Internet Options dialog box select the Security tab.
  3. Click Custom level button at bottom right. The Security settings dialog box will pop up.
  4. Scroll down to the Scripting category and click radio buttons to enable Active Scripting, Allow paste options via script, and Scripting of Java applets.
  5. Click OK twice to close out.

IE 5 for Windows

  1. Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
  2. In Internet Options dialog box select the Security tab.
  3. Click Custom level button at bottom right. The Security settings dialog box will pop up.
  4. Scroll down to the Scripting category and click radio buttons to enable Active Scripting, Allow paste options via script, and Scripting of Java applets.
  5. Click OK twice to close out.
