About Keystone High School Keystone: A tradition of academic excellence in distance learning

The Keystone School was founded in 1974 as the Learning and Evaluation Center, a pioneering organization that provided a credit make-up home education program for students who had failed a high school course.

Over time, the founders received countless inquiries from parents and educators needing a full-credit home-based high school curriculum for their students, and as a result Keystone National High School was established in 1994.

Our first online high school courses were introduced in 1999. Since then our online curriculum has continued to evolve in terms of design and interactivity, the breadth and depth of the subjects offered, and the academic and administrative services that support student learning and let parents stay involved in their children's education.

In 2008, Keystone National Middle School was added in response to the need for a program for younger children with the same benefits as Keystone National High School.

The Learning and Evaluation Center still exists today as Keystone Credit Recovery. We continue to offer supplemental short-term course work allowing students to make up credits and help them graduate on time.

Throughout our more than 30-year history, we have relied on subject matter specialists, certified teachers, experienced guidance counselors, professional distance education course writers, caring parents and—most importantly—our 200,000+ students, to help shape Keystone into the award-winning school it is today.
